We currently have several volunteer positions available:


1) Administrative/Front Desk

Answers phones, provides general program information, communicates with canine volunteer base, helps order canine supplies, and general office help.


2) HOTA Certified Dog Walker

Requires completion of our one-day online HOTA Basic Service Dog Training Program and one weekend day field supervision.  Hours most needed include early morning hours from 7 am - 10 am, and after 4:30 pm.


3) HOTA Certified Canine Training Assistant

Requires completion of our three-day online HOTA Advanced PTSD Service Dog Training Program and two weekend days field supervision.  Hours most needed on weekend and weekday mornings to assist with canine classes.


4) Canine Foster Parent

Our Service Dogs are often in need of temporary housing, often for just one or two nights, never longer than a week. Although most dogs are immediately placed with their veterans, occassionally there may be a few nights housing may be need in a loving and caring home.  Requires an onsite visit by HOTA staff member.  All supplies provided.  


5) Puppy Foster Parent

Our Service Puppys are often in need of temporary housing usually somewhere between 6 weeks of age up, usually no longer than 4 months of age.   This is a formative time for puppies in training, and Puppy Foster Parents complete a one-day training on proper care for these adorable dogs.  Most puppies after 8-10 weeks are immediately placed with their veterans, occassionally there may be a few nights housing may be need in a loving and caring home.  Requires an onsite visit by HOTA staff member.  All supplies provided.
